How you can help

Much of Gateway into the Community’s work with people who have a learning disability in West Northumberland is highly dependent on the funds we are able to raise.

We do our best to gain as much funding as possible through members’ contributions and their own fundraising, as well as by applications to numerous trusts and foundations.

Much as this helps our cause, we are aware of the still unmet needs of many people with learning disabilities in West Northumberland, particularly those living in the more rural areas.

Regular Donations

Regular donations are vital for us and one of the most effective ways you can support us. Having a regular reliable source of income ensures we can plan our services more effectively.  If you would like to help us in this way, you could set up a standing order by simply downloading and complete the donation form below. A standing order is easy to set up and it allows you the flexibility of changing or cancelling your donation at any time. You can increase your gift through Gift Aid if you pay UK income tax (or capital gains tax). Please remember to complete the Gift Aid Declaration form included on the  form, so that Gateway into the Community can claim an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 you donate.

Alternatively, some of our supporters have chosen to use Localgiving or payroll giving to make regular contributions to our work.

Please use the link below to fill in the donation form

One-Off Donations

If you would like to make a one-off donation to support our work we would be delighted.  Any donation no matter how small will make a big difference!

Organise an event

Of course there are more ways to help Gateway into the Community than by simply donating money. You could organise a Quiz Night, Open Garden, Coffee Morning, Cake Stall. Or if you like a challenge you may want to consider getting sponsored to help raise money for us. Perhaps you are considering taking part in the Great North Run?

These are just a few examples of how you can have fun or provide yourself with a challenge all while raising money for Gateway into the Community.

Local Businesses

Many businesses are passionate about giving something back to their local community.  Maybe you work for a company who may consider Gateway into the Community as their affiliate charity.

However you choose to support us we will be very grateful.

We are in the fantastic position of having secured a large plot of land within the grounds of a local farm. This is to become our 'Gateway into Nature' garden. We have been given this amazing opportunity to support our members in many ways, particularly during these uncertain times when members need reassurance and social contact more than ever.
