At Gateway into the Community, we offer bespoke one to one services for both adults and children that specifically cater for members with high support needs. The minimum age of the young people we support is 14. These members may have been unable to find the service they want elsewhere or may be already attending our groups and feel that they would like us to provide their individual support because they know us and the way we work.

Our Individual Support Service is, as always, busy and full of fun. We are committed to providing activities that not only fulfil our members’ potential but are also challenging. For example, 1:1 support has allowed one of our members to travel across the North East using various transport including the bus, metro and even boats! Outings such as these allow our members to gain more independence and confidence and really be a part of the community.
We aim to cater for individual needs and provide opportunities that accommodate the varying interests among our members. This can range from cooking and improving culinary skills to travel, including cycling and visiting a local farm. Within Individual Support we are able to make a difference to that one person and help them complete achievable tasks.
