Gateway into the Community supports who have learning disabilities to take part in a broad programmof leisure and learning opportunities within their wider communities.
The organisation is a registered Charity that started in May 1998. Since then we have seen the positive effect that being involved in the community and having the chance to make friends has had on people's lives.
We help our members to know what activities, courses and groups are taking place. We provide support to help members take part in activities courses and groups they are interested in.
We work to ensure that the inclusion of people who have a learning disability is enjoyable and benieficial for everyone.
We support integrated activities whenever appropriate.
We can help by arranging and supporting individual packages of leisure and learning services for you, if you recieve Direct Payments and dont wish to attend Day Care Services,
We have members who are 14 years old and members who are in their 80's.
Some members live at home, some live in the community abd some live in residential care.
Some of our members never talk, some of our members never stop talking.
Some of our membersneed a lot of support, some members go on to provide the support.
